Who would be the audience for your media product?

Who would be the audience for your media product? The audience for my media product would you teenage boy and girls who enjoy listening to indie and indie folk music. When stereotyping my audience then a new modern form of mods called ‘hipsters’. Stereotypically they enjoy them music and fashion within my magazine. The audience for my magazine would be an upper-class audience very similar to ID the magazine that I Intertextualised my magazine with. My magazine has a niche of the 'hipsters' my magazines target audience doesn't have many magazines aimed towards them so my target audience will be inclined to purchase it.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? I think that my magazine would be self-distributed, I think this because the largest fashion distributer, conde nast, doesn’t really attract the target audience I am aiming for. Also so stereotypically my target audience will use the internet and social media. A good way to get know is advertisement through the social media. Also stereotypically the reader will wear clothes such as stussy, supreme and HUF, by getting advertising and being linked with other industries that the audience enjoys will attract them towards it.

Looking back at your preliminary task (the college magazine task) what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to full product?

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

How does your media product represent particular social groups? My media product represents are certain audience of upper class teenage boys and girls. I have represented them by the cover lines and the image on the front of my product. The music artist I have put on my magazine are all ‘indie’ and ‘folk-indie’ singers appealing and representing what the target audience are and what they enjoy. The fashion element in my magazine also represents more the male side of the audience, the readers of my magazine would stereotypically wear relatively unknown branded clothes. The social group that they will stereotypically be associated with all talk and know of these low brands. Hence the reason why I have included the brand TheBearHug.

How did you attract/address your audience?

How did you attract/address your audience? I attracted my audience by having a striking, out of the ordinary picture on the front of my magazine. This would attract my audience as the image would attract there eye. Having the girl in black and white and the gecko in colour will make it stand out even more. The cover lines would be my USP (unique selling point) also attract the audience as the Audience that I am aiming for will listen to music like Ben Howard, Tome Odell and Jake Bugg encouraging them to buy the magazine. Also people who know the brand TheBearHug, created by Luke Dixon will also by attracted to the magazine. The audience I am aiming for will already enjoy reading magazines that are similar to mine such as ID, so my magazine will instantly appeal to them.
